Terms of Service
Last updated August 2026
1. Agreement to these terms
By creating an account or using VeriPact you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into contracts in your jurisdiction.
2. What VeriPact is
VeriPact is software that helps clients and freelancers define milestone-based agreements and settle payments through public smart contracts on the Base network.
VeriPact is non-custodial. We never take possession of your funds, private keys, or wallet. Payments move directly between your wallet and the escrow smart contract.
VeriPact is not a bank, payment processor, money transmitter, escrow agent, employer, or law firm, and nothing in the product is financial or legal advice.
3. Your account and wallet
You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and your wallet. Transactions signed by your wallet are final and cannot be reversed by us.
You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your profile up to date.
4. Agreements between users
Agreements created on VeriPact are between the client and the freelancer. We are not a party to them.
Milestone approval, revision requests, and dispute resolution follow the rules encoded in the smart contract used by the agreement, including any timeout-based release.
5. AI verification
AI reviews are assistive only. They summarise submitted work against the stated requirements and never approve, release, or withhold funds on their own.
Final approval is always a human decision made by the client, or an automatic on-chain outcome the parties agreed to in advance.
6. Acceptable use
Do not use VeriPact for unlawful work, sanctioned parties, money laundering, fraud, or to infringe anyone's rights.
Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer for exploitation, or gain unauthorised access to the service or other users' data.
7. Fees and network costs
Blockchain transactions require network gas fees paid from your own wallet. These are set by the network, not by VeriPact.
If platform fees are introduced, they will be shown before you confirm a transaction.
8. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Smart contracts, blockchains, and third-party infrastructure can fail or behave unexpectedly.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VeriPact is not liable for lost funds, lost profits, or indirect damages arising from your use of the service.
9. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected by the date on this page. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
We may suspend accounts that violate these terms. On-chain agreements already deployed remain governed by their smart contract.
10. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent through the in-app help page.
